Change score tempo and metronome settings

Updated over a month ago

The Metronome feature in MuseScore allows you to adjust playback tempo, control the metronome volume, and enable a countdown before playback begins. Here's how to make the most of this feature:

Adjusting Playback Tempo

  1. Open a score in the MuseScore mobile app.

  2. Navigate to the Metronome tab by clicking the metronome icon at the top-right corner of the screen.

  3. Use the Tempo slider to adjust the playback speed as a percentage of the original tempo. You can set it anywhere between 10% and 200%.

Customizing the Metronome Settings

  1. Within the Metronome tab, locate the Volume slider to adjust the metronome’s sound level. The volume can be set from 0 (mute) to 100 (maximum volume).

  2. Enable or disable the 4-second countdown before playback by toggling the pre-count option. This feature provides a 4-second pre-count of playback when you tap the Play button.

To go back to the score, slide this tab down.
